Opportunity Summary
The National Endowment for Democracy (NED)provides grants to support civil society organisations working to advance democratic values, human rights, and accountable governance worldwide.
Each year, NED awards more than 2,000 grants in over 100 countries, supporting local initiatives that strengthen democratic institutions, civic participation, and independent media.
The programme prioritises locally led, nonpartisan initiatives implemented by independent organisations working in diverse political environments, including emerging democracies, countries undergoing democratic transitions, semi-authoritarian states, and highly restrictive political contexts.
